Welcome to my website. My name is David Robinson and I am a Digital Compositor living in Haslemere
near to Guildford, Surrey. My passion for VFX began when I was a child and my father told me that the ship
in a film I was watching were all models. At the time I was deflated by this, though over time I became mor
and more interested.
Initially I trained in Computing and Software Engineering and could only dream about working at places like
The Mill, which I used to read about in Computer Arts from time to time. Once I had left universtiy my first role
was as a Mac Operator and I found this very rewarding, though not very challenging.
Years later I returned to university to study Graphic Design and it was here I found myself working on 3D
animation projects and then compositing the rendered frames into more interesting products at the time
using Shake 4. Later on I would make the move over to Nuke at version 5 when it became available on OSX.
Today in 2012 I am about to begin the Compositing for Production course at Escape Studios in London.
I am very much looking forward to this as it will give my skills a real competitive edge and allow me to
operate at the highest professional level.
